Lego Blaster, Christophe Terlinden, 2010

Legos. Gift of the artist.
In 2010, even before the Villa Savoye was released in the Lego Architecture series (2012), Christophe Terlinden created 'Lego Blaster', a replica in small famous bricks of the Logis du paysan that Le Corbusier and Norbert Bézard imagined in 1934 as part of their project for a 'Radiant Farm and Cooperative Village'. The 'Blaster' refers to another of the artist's pieces: the Ghetto Blaster (2009), a reconstruction of Grimbergen Abbey in the form of the emblematic cassette radio of the 1980s. The soundtrack of the Ghetto Blaster emitted musical pieces played by the carillon of Grimbergen Abbey; that of the Lego Blaster emits the sounds of 24 hours spent in Piacé to the rhythm of church bells and tractors...
