Designed by Georges Candilis and Anja Blomstedt, it is above all a simple hexagonal bubble: hence the name hexacube. It is made up of two fibreglass-reinforced laminated polyester hulls with large openings. They were built by Dubigeon Plastiques under patent by Georges Candilis and Anja Blomsted, a Finnish interior designer and collaborator of Georges Candilis, who developed the design of the hexacube on the model of a boat cabin. Subsequently, Cifam, a marketing company, was specially created to market this type of housing. They were made up of plastic shell elements. Each house was 7M2, but a fastening system allowed the house to be juxtaposed and thus enlarged, offering multiple combinations. Everyone was free to choose the size of their house. The Hexacube marked the beginning of prefabricated modular construction. Source: Clément Cividino Ent.
