Rocaillage tree.
A project produced for La Quinzaine radieuse 16 as part of the Suite 2024 programme run by Cnap (Centre national des arts plastiques) in partnership with ADAGP (Société des auteurs dans les arts plastiques et graphiques) and the Académie des beaux-arts.
The project benefited from a residency at the SUPRA workshops in Saint-Aubin-Des-Landes.

"The project Concrete Treepresented at the Radiant Fortnight 16 in Piacé in 2024, is a concrete sculpture designed to accommodate the work of other artists. To create this module, I will be using a craft technique that was very much in vogue in the second half of the 19th century: Rocaillage. Guided by a metal frame, the concrete is used in an ornamental way and tends to reproduce the mineral as well as the vegetable. Here, it's not so much the attempt to imitate nature that interests me, but rather the plastic quality of the raw concrete and the function I attribute to this work. For this exhibition, Concrete Tree will host a series of customised ceramics by guest artists.
