Rampe, Claude Parent / Rem Koolhas, 2014-2020

RAMP, CLAUDE PARENT, 2014. REM KOOLHAS, VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE
*Private area. Visible only during temporary exhibitions, guided tours or by appointment.
The association has fitted out a new space (a former house) to house a full-scale reconstruction of part of architect Claude Parent's flat. The ramp presented here is a real-life example of the Oblique Function theory that Claude Parent developed with the town planner and philosopher Paul Virilio. This ramp was built by Rem Koolhas' agency OMA AMO for the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2014 as part of the Elements of architecture exhibition. It was then exhibited at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Le Mans as part of the ObliqueS exhibition (curated by David Liaudet, 2016)... Presentation text by David Liaudet
