Opening on Saturday 18 September from 6.30pm
There's a holiday village feel to Ile du Moulin, where Benedetto Bufalino's swimming pool caravan sits alongside homes that are emblematic of the leisure architecture of the 1960s and 1970s: Bulles Six Coques (J-B Maneval), Tetrodon (Atelier d'Urbanisme et d'Architecture) and Hexacube (Georges Candilis & Anja Blomstedt), freshly arrived in Piacé. In the grass, an inflatable airlock designed by Christian Ragot unfurls; you go in and come out, experiencing the transition from birth to space! Further on in the village, Maroussia Rebecq is launching a boutique and sewing workshop under the Andrea Crews banner.
This edition is also the opportunity to inaugurate the new pieces on the itinerary: a mural by the artists Mrzyk & Moriceau on the gable of the Kub d'Or (Piacé le radieux's new exhibition space), a 'pre-architecture Prototype III by Marc Leschelier and a sculpture Worm by Caroline Mesquita. As for Olivier Vadrot, he is inviting students from the Toulon Provence Méditerranée art and design school to join him during the Journées de l'architecture to create a two-person minimum hut in two days! Finally, the exhibition spaces at the Moulin de Blaireau and the Kub d'Or will be hosting various editions of Piacé le radieux, as well as works by Louis Lepère and M.c. Salò. And if M.c. Salò, a member of the StupeflipWe'll have a song for you at the vernissage on Saturday 18 September from 6.30pm?
