Nicolas Floc'h, Untitled barbecue, 2005

Corten steel, 23 cm x 101 cm x 78 cm.
Initially presented at the Parc de La Villette, this untitled Barbecue combines sculpture and performance: it was born of a hijacking of Donald Judd's Stack, made up of parallelepipeds hung at regular heights on a wall, the space between each module being equal to its own thickness. Made of corten steel, each module is also reminiscent of Richard Serra's favourite material: another reference point for minimalism revisited here by Nicolas Floc'h, an artist of borrowings and shifts, particularly attentive to the potential functionalities of the work, and the participatory resources that flow from them.
Located on the Ile du Moulin, Untitled barbecue is regularly used for parties and vernissages.
