CAMILA OLIVEIRA FAIRCLOUGH / LARP

Grange Noire

Camila Oliveira Fairclough works as a painter. Her paintings "are made up of various elements borrowed from everyday life: concrete things, abstract things, sounds suggested or transformed into images and the reappropriation of images. And yet Camila's paintings are not meant to be read or deciphered in order to be understood, and in this they undoubtedly fall into the realm of poetry. The artist lives and paints in Paris. Her work is inspired by the images she encounters in the city and in her everyday life. Here she presents a series of nine canvases made from paper patterns representing drawings (bouquets of flowers, mermaids or simple geometric shapes) to be reproduced life-size, hence the eponymous title of the exhibition. Combining different techniques and collages on the canvas, the work navigates between abstraction and poetry!

MICK PETER / GALERIE FATALISTE

Moulin de Blaireau

Mick Peter transforms the imagery of fiction, illustration and graphic design into playful installations, liberating images from the flat surface of the page to create exuberant, humorous sculptures. Sketches and doodles are transformed to scale and remade in substantial materials such as concrete, acrylic resin and polyurethane. La Fatalist gallery that he presents here is straight out of the "Six scènes" exhibition held at the Halle au blé in Alençon in October 2023 (Les Bains-Douches Alençon, curated by Sophie Vinet). The exhibition space is transformed into an imaginary gallery where the artist, using pretence and mise en abyme, plays with himself, the viewer and the art world!

CHARLIE MALGAT/ LATEX MEMORIES Kub d'Or

Charlie Malgat's artistic practice has developed over several years around a genuine obsession with the living: "that which moves, dances, convulses, modifies and then mutates in order to stay alive". The human body is her field of experimentation: she studies it, examines it, dissects it and then reanimates it - staging choreographed organs and bits of flesh, transcended in an immersive fictional universe, imbued with humour and poetry, at once sensual and trivial. In the Kub d'Or showcase, she presents Latex Memories, a gigantic picture book in which each page is made up of soft sculptures carved out of foam and encased in latex. The fruit of his exhibition Latex Memories (2017-2022) held at Al Cité internationale des Arts in 2022 (Curated by Pierre-Henri Foulon) Free admission
